Senior Accountant with an award-winning restaurant management company.
Summary
The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Accounting Manager and maintain and control the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of various financial records. The Senior Accountant will also be heavily involved in the implementation of the new Lease Accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely processing of cash receipts such as in office checks, credit card deposits, airline voucher payments, refunds, and 3rd party delivery payments.
- Provide centralized coordination of the contract and lease evaluation process.
- Completion of non-unit cash and bank account reconciliations monthly.
- Evaluate corporate contracts and leases to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines.
- Establish lease payment and amortization parameters in lease management software.
- Serve as process owner for lease management software.
- Manage the periodic lease payment and amortization process.
- Ensure that accounts receivable billings are completed in a timely manner each month. Review customer schedules/reports with management monthly. Cooperate with appropriate managers to keep accurate financial records for accounts receivable.
- Ensure that payroll entries are completed in a timely manner each month. Complete monthly reconciliation of payroll to general ledger.
- Perform month-end close duties in a timely manner and consistent with the schedule of close and reporting. Assist as required with fiscal and calendar year-end procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly budget to actual reports for all departments. Verify all expenditures against line items and update Controller as needed or requested.
- Ability to communicate effectively via in person, in writing, and by telephone, in a prompt, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry a plus.
- Lease accounting experience.
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with Great Plains or comparable enterprise accounting software.
