Financial Reporting Accountant

Financial Reporting Accountant with a national leader in transportation and logistics.
 

Summary

The Financial Reporting Accountant will participate in the monthly close process and work alongside the Financial Reporting team responsible for external reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual filings, and other statutory reporting. This role will report to our Assistant Manager Financial Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develops routine and non-routine journal entries.
• Participates in the monthly closing process and provides monthly reports to support the financial statements.
• Responsible for accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of the prepaid asset account as well as the reasonableness of the related monthly expense.
• Required to work closely with other groups including Risk Management, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable to ensure accounts are properly reflected.
• Works with various departments monthly to compile flux analysis to provide to Controller.
• Performs subsidiary company reporting and equity accounting.
• Prepares subsidiary financial statements.
• Prepares bank reconciliations for certain cash accounts.
• Responds to audit requests from external and internal auditors.
• Assists with the preparation of various 10-K and 10-Q footnotes.
• Assists with the preparation of monthly statistical reporting and various annual STB reports.
• Assists with the development, analysis, and interpretation of data.
• Coordinates ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum Level: 1 – 3 years.
• Required Level: Bachelor's degree (BBA).
• Preferred Majors: Accounting.
• Licenses / Certifications: Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred.
