Accounting Research Senior Accountant with a $10+ billion publicly-traded company.
Summary
The Accounting Research Senior Accountant will assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions, dispositions and other legal entity restructurings (this company is heavily focused on technology-related entities). This involves reviewing acquisition-related contracts and financial statements to identify potential accounting and tax risk areas.

Responsibilities
- The primary position duty is to provide accounting due diligence and assist with due diligence for potential acquisitions, dispositions and other legal entity restructurings. This involves reviewing transaction contracts to identify potential accounting and tax risk areas. Work with the Commercial team and others to resolve issues.
- Review proposed or completed transactions and related contracts to determine and document the required accounting and financial statement disclosures in well-written memos.
- Provide accounting management with assurance that SEC quarterly/annual filings are in compliance with disclosure requirements.
- Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and participate in the implementation of the new standards.
- Assist in establishing and updating company accounting policies.
- Perform ad-hoc accounting research as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA is required.
- 3+ years of accounting or Big 4 or regional CPA firm auditing experience is required.
- Acquisition due diligence experience preferred.
- Technical accounting research experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to use the FASB Accounting Standards Codification (“ASC”)/International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and other research tools to analyze technical/complex accounting issues, render sound advice, and document conclusions in well-written memos is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ASC/IFRS and SEC accounting and reporting standards and requirements. Knowledge of ASC 606 Contracts with Customers, ASC 805 Business Combinations, ASC 810 Consolidation and Variable Interest Entities, ASC 815 Derivatives and Hedging, and ASC 842 Leases is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to understand and explain complex accounting issues to a varied audience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build relationships and interact with all functional areas and levels of management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
- Self-directed, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Ability to determine required disclosures for the quarter-end and year-end financial reporting process.
