Tax Associate

Tax Associate with a mid-sized financial planning and wealth management firm.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of tax returns including Individual, Partnership, C-Corp, S-Corp, and Trusts
  • Prepare detailed projections on a quarterly and year end basis
  • Prepare and complete income allocation workpapers
  • Prepare tax payment and refund summaries
  • Prepare calculation of book/tax differences
  • Assist in developing business and investment strategies for an optimized after-tax return for a client
  • Ensure that business and personal tax-return preparation meets all regulatory requirements
  • Work with the tax team to ensure compliance and best practices are being utilized
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new clients by providing exceptional client service and advice
  • Seek opportunities for tax saving strategies for businesses including retirement plan contributions, QBI planning, etc.
  • Conduct research on tax compliance issues at the state and federal levels

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree a plus
  • 1-3 years of Tax experience at a public accounting firm. Big 4 experience a plus
  • CPA progress a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting methods and tax laws
