Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a reputable single-family office in the Atlanta area. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of over 30 entities, supporting the finance department with transactional recording, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
The bookkeeper reports directly to the Controller and collaborates closely with the finance and accounting team to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Maintain real-time QuickBooks records by recording daily financial transactions for multiple entities.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for over 30 entities, including trusts, to ensure account accuracy.
- Update general ledgers consistently to reflect the latest financial activity for all entities.
- Assist the Controller with various accounting functions, including supporting quarterly financial statement preparation.
- Support various ad hoc projects and duties assigned by the Controller to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and organizational policies in all accounting activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information at all times.
- Demonstrate a service-oriented attitude by providing timely and accurate support to team members.
- Organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Leverage QuickBooks proficiency to optimize accounting workflows and accuracy.
- Contribute to team success by supporting a positive, collaborative work environment.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software and financial data entry.
- Familiarity with financial statement preparation and basic accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple clients and accounts.
- Self-motivated and adaptable with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Trustworthy with sensitive information and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
- Associates degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required.
- Zero to minimal prior experience acceptable, with a preference for motivated learners.
