Finance Senior with a $3+ billion publicly-traded company.
 

Summary

The Finance Senior will assist management in driving financial performance, providing strategic insights, and supporting decision-making processes across various business units within the organization. The role will also support management and work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders and be responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, modeling, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc analysis of financial variances relative to prior period and budgeted results.
  • Determine and document income and expense variances.
  • Justify results ensuring proper treatment of accounting and SOX compliance.
  • Communicate and present findings to management.
  • Review other areas of responsibility including other income, allocations, intercompany agreements, and US-CAN cross charges.
  • Facilitate with managers throughout the company the creation of a detailed income and expense budgets and reforecasts. Provide ongoing support to those departments on understanding their revenue and expenses and how they emerge in financial results.
  • Ensure transparency of future revenue and expense trends and accurate earnings forecasts.
  • Propose journal entries related to expense accruals, account reclasses, or expense allocations.
  • Construct or review monthly account reconciliations.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining company allocation models and methods.
  • Develop and refine models and other metrics and KPIs to analyze trends, forecast results, and develop annual budget of various product earnings and KPIs.
  • Assist with design and development of models in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tool.
  • Assist area VP with ad-hoc projects, create and track project ROI analysis.
  • Assist with the identification, analysis, documentation, and development of continuous improvement initiatives that will streamline processes, enhance business processes, and reduce/eliminate pain points.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 – 5 years of experience in budgeting or financial analysis, budgeting, planning, general accounting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet modeling.
  • Experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry.
  • Experience with ERP and EPM systems/tools a plus.
