How fast can AquantUs deliver candidates?
Speed depends on role specificity, location, compensation alignment, and interview availability. Many searches produce qualified profiles within days, while niche or senior level/executive roles may take longer. We’ll align on timeline expectations during your initial call with your recruiter.
What information do you need to start a search?
To launch effectively, AquantUs typically needs:
- Job description (or a working draft)
- Reporting line, team structure, and key stakeholders
- Must-have job requirements (e.g., CPA, industry, systems, leadership scope)
- Compensation range and benefits context
- On-site/hybrid/remote expectations and location requirements
- Interview process steps and decision-makers
- What success looks like in the first 6–12 months.
How does AquantUs evaluate candidate quality?
We screen for:
- Role-relevant technical experience (close, reporting, controls, FP&A, tax, etc.)
- Scope match (team size, complexity, stakeholder exposure)
- Communication and executive presence
- Systems and process orientation
- Motivation, compensation alignment, and availability.
Can AquantUs run a confidential search?
Yes. If confidentiality is important, we can structure outreach to control what information is shared and when, based on your preferences. We will structure our outreach to protect sensitive information and control what’s shared at each stage of the process while still attracting qualified candidates.
How are fees structured and what is your guarantee?
Fee structure depends on the service type (direct hire, retained search, interim/fractional, contract staffing). Click here to find out the differences between each type of search and information to help you determine which one is right for your needs.
For contingent, direct hire searches, our fee is calculated as a percentage of the hired candidate’s first year compensation.
For contract and interim consulting/fractional searches, the hired candidate is an employee of AquantUs for the duration of the assignment, and AquantUs will provide an “all-in” hourly rate for each candidate upon submitting their resume.
Prior to starting any search, we’ll provide a clear written agreement outlining terms, timing, and guarantees.
Our guarantee for contingent searches is 90 days, and for retained searches it is 180 days.
For urgent hiring needs, how soon can I expect to see candidates from AquantUs?
For your contract and interim consulting needs, AquantUs can provide a fully vetted shortlist of qualified, available candidates within 24 hours.
For your urgent direct hire needs, our average time to provide a slate of qualified candidates is 2.5 business days.
What questions should I ask before I engage a recruiter to partner with me on my hiring needs?
“What specific accounting and finance roles have you filled recently in our geographic market and/or industry?”
“How do you evaluate technical accounting/audit/finance/tax experience?”
- Do the firm’s recruiters have hands-on experience in the areas for which they recruit?
“Who will actually be executing my search day-to-day?”
- This is especially important when speaking with national firms. Often, with a larger, national firm, you will speak with a Parter level professional up front, and the search will be handed off to and conducted by entry/junior level recruiters.
- At AquantUs, as with most boutique firms, the Partner or Manager that you speak with up front will be your sole point of contact throughout the search and will take 100% responsibility for the search’s success. They will be supported by a team of recruiters, and will execute your search strategy and vet every candidate before you see the candidate’s resume. This is one of the main benefits of partnering with a boutique search firm.
“How many candidates do you typically present per role, and what is your historical submit-to-hire ratio?”
- A great recruiter will focus on quality, not quantity, and will know their key ratios.
“How are your recruiting fees structured?”
- Clarify whether they operate on a contingency, retained, and/or contract-to-hire basis and what the fee structure is for each. For contract-to-hire, ensure the firm is clear on their conversion fees up front.
“What happens if a placement does not work out, and how long does your replacement guarantee last?”
“Are there additional administrative fees or expenses that are not included in the fee percentage quoted for this search?”
“How long does your average interim consulting engagement run and how does the billing work?”
“How soon can I expect to see candidates?”
What makes AquantUs different from generalist recruiters and large national firms?
AquantUs focuses 100% on accounting, audit, finance, and tax—meaning:
- More precise screening on technical requirements and scope
- Better calibration on compensation and market realities
- Stronger candidate experience and more credible outreach
- Faster candidate slates when the role requirements are clearly defined.
Many of our recruiters started their careers in accounting, audit, finance, or tax. This allows them to deeply vet specialized skills like US GAAP compliance, multinational consolidations, and SEC reporting better than generalist recruiters.
