Summary

The Controller is responsible for general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, cost accounting, cash management, and related accounting operations. This role is integral to maintaining the organization’s financial integrity, operational effectiveness, and long-term fiscal strength.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly contractual and bad debt analyses, as well as other significant accounting estimates, including self-funded health insurance reserves, physician incentive compensation, and investment-related activity.
• Assess daily financial performance, including revenue forecasts, expense trends, cash flow, and delivers timely financial reporting to support informed decision-making across senior leadership.
• Lead the organization’s annual operating and capital budget process and serves as the primary liaison for external financial audits and reviews, including the annual financial statement audit, IRS Form 990 preparation, Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report, and DCH Hospital Financial Survey.
• Oversee key banking relationships, including deposits, lending activity, and credit card processing
• Manages the annual operating and capital budget process.
• Oversight of all financial operations of the organization
• Prepares significant accounting estimates monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, Masters or CPA preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting or finance experience with progressively greater responsibility, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.
• Preferred: 10 or more years of accounting or finance experience, including at least 5 years of healthcare leadership experience.
